What is ACTA?
Welcome Viewers,
Today I will not be talking about a rumor for Android or Apple. I would like to take today to talk about ACTA. ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. Some people are saying that ACTA is just the European SOPA. I hate to pop your bubble but it’s not. ACTA applies to every country that has signed the agreement. That includes United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada. If ACTA is approved and put into place, all these countries will have to live with it. All of you have probably heard about SOPA and Protect IP (PIPA). They were some anti-piracy acts that got turned down in the US. They were laws to censor the internet of pirated information, software, medial, etc. But they did more then that, they allowed people to shut down whole sites and put people in prison without full proof. I won’t get into that right now, but what I will get into is ACTA. … Continue Reading
Hydrogen Battery In The Works
Welcome Viewers,
Sorry this post is kind of late, I took the day off from school since exams just finished and I pretty much slept all day.
Todays rumor is about Apples new hydrogen-fuel battery that they just patented. It converts hydrogen and oxygen into water to power the device. The battery supposedly lasts between a few days to maybe even a week or two on one charge. The new technology is better for the environment, since the only by product is water. These fuel systems are currently used to power space shuttles, boats, and airplanes, but Apple is the first to try to put it in laptops and phones. … Continue Reading
Google’s Siri
Greetings Viewers,
Rumors have emerged about Google’s Siri competitor, Majel. Majel will be a virtual assistant that is very similar to that of Siri on the iPhone 4S. Majel will perform tasks such as manage calendars, tasks, send text messages/emails, and more.
Majel’s name comes from the Federation Computer from Star Trek, Majel Barrett-Roddenberry. Majel will be voice controlled like Siri, but will lack Siri’s “fun personality”. Google is aiming for an accurate, fast personal assistant to get work done, not to goof around. While Google already has a voice command system, Voice Actions, Majel will be its successor. Rumors have it that it will start off limited just to Google searches, but more functions will follow the release.
Siri TV
Welcome viewers,
To kick off the start of my blog, I have chosen a rumor that is getting pretty popular lately, Apple’s iTV. I am very interested to see what will happen with the iTV and whether it will come out or not.
The iTV is said to be the next generation of the Apple TV. A main difference between the two is that while the Apple TV is a small black box you plug into a TV, the iTV is rumored to be a full TV. Many people are speculating that it will be released in two different sizes. Most places I have read say the two sizes will be 32″ and 37″, but others believe it will be 42″ and 50″. I personally think it would make more sense for a 42″ and 50″ because big TVs are very popular right now. From what I have read, the iTV will have a new and improved interface and be very user-friendly. The main feature that is supposed to ship on the iTV is Siri (For those of you that don’t know, Siri is the new iPhone 4S’s virtual assistant). This prediction started when Steve Job’s biography came out, and Steve Jobs talked about it in an interview:
First Blog
Greetings Community,
I am sorry for not posting a real first blog post. I have been busy starting school back up and band stuff after school. I don’t have anything after school on Thursdays, so I plan to post the first actual post tomorrow. It will probably be Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays that I get to blog. Although, if I see something that catches my eye, I may whip out my phone and post it while it is fresh in my mind.
WordPress Site
I had the idea to set up a WordPress blog instead of this. I think it would look nicer to have a whole site dedicated to my blog that I can design and edit how I want. I am doing this before i actually start so I don’t have some posts here and some there. I am going to start setting it up when I finish writing this. I will have an RSS Feed reader on my profile, so you will still see my latest posts on there. I don’t know how long it will take to design and set up the website, but we will see. Once that site is done, or to the point that it looks good enough to publish, I will post my first real post and really start blogging.
