Today I will not be talking about a rumor for Android or Apple. I would like to take today to talk about ACTA. ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. Some people are saying that ACTA is just the European SOPA. I hate to pop your bubble but it’s not. ACTA applies to every country that has signed the agreement. That includes United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada. If ACTA is approved and put into place, all these countries will have to live with it. All of you have probably heard about SOPA and Protect IP (PIPA). They were some anti-piracy acts that got turned down in the US. They were laws to censor the internet of pirated information, software, medial, etc. But they did more then that, they allowed people to shut down whole sites and put people in prison without full proof.
